For Avid MXF Media, does this new importer have an option to generate QuickTime reference files for codecs like DNxHD?

I am trying to import an aaf from avid that I have created.  When I created the aaf, I consolidated the media and converted everything to wav so Premiere would be able to read it.  After importing into premiere all the media is offline and it asks to relink.  Unfortunately, it wants to relink the ORIGINAL source media that I dropped into the avid.  As an examble I had a file titled Music_Score.MP3.  When I created the aaf and converted to wav, avid created new media and named it Music_SC28895a334a.WAV  (this is normal for avid).  But now Premiere wants to link to the Music_Score.MP3 file and not the new media, Music_SC28895a334a.WAV.  How do I get it to link back to the new media I've created?  I can't link it by filename being that it's changed and even if I manually select the track it won't link being that premiere wants to link back to the original stereo track not the new dual mono that avid has created.  Thanks.

Not sure if anyone can replicate this. My source files are MOVs, ProRes, 25fps, PAL, with 2 PCM 48kHz mono tracks. The files are linked in Avid via AMA. Premiere is set to import audio as mono (partly because I need to isolate specific speakers and they are recorded split mic on each track).

On import into PPro, two tracks show up in the timeline, but on closer inspection, both tracks are from the first audio track of the QT movie.

When importing an aaf with embedded media, how do I go about creating the media that was embedded into the aaf or ectracting it? Right now when I import an aaf with embedded media, it just brings in the sequence with all clips offline and does not create any new media.  I've tried it with an aaf coming from both pro tools and avid.  Thank you for the help.

I have an AAF file that defines a sequence which contains a single clip of mono audio. When I try to import this into Premiere Pro I get an error telling me that it is unable to reference a file  containing more than 2 audio streams. I'm assuming that a stream is synonymous with a channel which may be a mistake. If it is, then, as my audio is mono, it seems unlikely that I have more than 2 streams. I have checked what is in the AAF and the only part of it that has more than 1 channel is the 'Tape' mob. Is it possible that the import is failing because of this ?

Can some one help me...? I  just upgraded from Premier Pro CS5 to CS6. I noticed that when I bring the video clip (audio & video)  into the time  line  the audio part is missing there is no trace of audio at all. I checked with all audio track and mute function it is all fine. When I bring in any other audio clips it is visible and plays fine. I also checked with bringing bar/tone it is woking fine.

My videos are boxed around with black. Like the video is in the center and around the video is just blackness. I don't know how to make it fullscreen. Can you help?

I have Adobe Premiere Elements 9 and can't seem to get the correct resolution. I am also using a flip HD. The settings on Adobe Premiere are default. So is there any way you can give me some information about scaling or making the resolution larger?

Hola tengo un gran problema, ya que uso este progrma mucho para edición para la facultad.

Resulta que de un dia para el otro el Adobe premiere y el adobe after effects me dejaron de funcionar sin razón alguna, entonces quice eliminarlos, pero al entrar en panel de control desinstalar un programa me dice que hay un error en la desinstalación y me dice que reincie la computadora y que sino se soluciona qcon eso que me baje el Adobe creative suite cleaner, obviamente ya reincie la computadora muchas veces, me baje le rpograma peor cuando lo ejecuto y pongo que quiero vborrar los Cs5 que tengo no me aparece ningun progrma que pueda eliminar lo intente miles de veces hasta puse que queria eleiminar todo lo que tenga de adobe y aún asi no puedo.

Por favor necesito una solución.

Ah otra cosa también trate de restaurar el sistema a un punto anterior pero me oaparecen puntos desde hace unos días, restaure el sistema al punto mas viejo que me aparecia pero nada... me siguen sin funcionar los programas y sigo sin poder desinstarlos.

I have used the Green Screen Keying effect and had to crop the overlaying video.

It looks great in the experts view.  But once it is loaded to YouTube, the overlaying video crop is back to its original format.

Our current workflow is to import our camera master QTs into Media Composer.  And to then import our production audio WAV files.  These Master Clips, both video and audio, are left as is and not renamed.  We then Autosync them into subclips.  The synced subclips are renamed to the slate name.  We then offline edit.  Then we export a video only AAF that we import into FCP7 with Automatic Duck.  This make a Sequence and Clips.  The clips we can easily do a relink with search and it find the original MOV files and all our clips are back online.

With FCP7 being DOA we are exploring how we are going to eventually replace it in our workflow and I'm giving Premier Pro a try since we already have the Production bundle for other software in the package. 

When I import the AAF into PP it makes a sequence and 3 clips in the project window for each clip in the in the sequence.  One of the clips appears to refer only to audio so it's confusing as to why it exist since I have a video only AAF. 

Then there are a set of clips that appear to match the Master Clips from the Avid in that they have the original MOV file name as their name and the TC on them matches too.  But when I select them to relink them the window that comes up is looking for the Avid MXF media.  So I have to relink each one at a time.  And once I have them online they are of no use as they don't have anything to do with clips cut into the sequence.

Then there is another set of clips.  These have the slate names on them like the Subclips in Media Composer.  And if I load up the sequence and ask it to find a clip in the project it is these clips that get revealed.  And the durations on them are what is needed for the sequence, but not the entire length of the original subclips in Media Composer.  Now for the weird part, the clips have frame rates of 95.90fps and the TC on them is hours off from what it should be.  And when I go to relink them it is asking for MXF files that all begin with BLACK02 for whatever reason.  So with a lot of pain of using the Media Composer to cross reference each clip I hand relink them.  But none of these clips reference the correct part of the MOV file.  All of the clips line up with the first frame of the MOV.  Even subclips from the same master clip all start at the first frame of the MOV file.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but whatever it is, it's very wrong.  I was hoping to find some direction on how to properly go from Media Composer to Premiere Pro with AAF files.

I have some Sony Vegas 10 projects which I exported as AAF files.  Sony has two AAF Save As Types:

• Edit Protocol Compliant  AFF File
• Avid Legacy AFF File

I have not noticed any difference in the results of importing them. 

I open Premiere Pro CS6 (Version 6.0.2 (072 (MC: 264587)) Mighty Kilt and choose Import.  I navigate to the AFF files I created in Vegas and import it.

First, I get a log of how it could not be completed fully (see Import Log below).  The issues are related to audio transitions and I'm not worried about that.  Then it imports the files which then appear in the Project Pane in it's own bin.

My issue is that nothing appears in the sequence timeline.  What does the import actually do-- take note of what files I used?  I expected all of the tracks to be created and populated with the audio and video files.

EDIT: I exported a EDL from vegas and renamed it to EDL so it could be imported (Premiere would not import the original .txt file).  I imporeted this into Premiere and I was prompted for NTSC versus PAL and then project settings.  I still don't see anything in Premiere after doing this.
